Freedom of press: Zenger printed of government corruption by the royal governor of New York and was charged with libel. 

Alexander Hamilton defender Zenger and made his argument on the basis that if the press can not print truthful information then the government could become a dictatorship. The ideas of this trial helped to inspire freedom of the press found in the First Amendment.
