The first Americans to become powerful in hawaii were the missionaries. They took away their power and beliefs.

The first Americans to become powerful in Hawaii were the missionaries. Hawaiians believed in God's and other beliefs, so the missionaries took this away from them, grew in power, and Hawaii was later apart of the union.
