The answer is Spiro Agnew or letter c.  He was known for being Nixon’s hatchet man and was a harsh critic of war protesters and journalists.  He was later under investigation on charges of extortion, tax fraud and bribery by the U.S. Attorney of Maryland and was replaced by Gerard Ford as Vice President.
